May 1982 -- my first Sirius AM re-broadcast, but a different impression

In my 2 years of listening to Sirius XM, this is the first repeated chart I remember -- I even blogged about it.  At the time, I talked about how SLOW everything was.
This time I noticed the rather stunning musical whiplash on the chart.  Human League and Soft Cell are bringing new wave music into the mainstream...alongside some of the toughest music of the early 80's (Joan Jett, Aldo Nova), country ballads (Willie, Eddie Rabbitt), crazy 50's retro (Simon and Garfunkel live (?!?!), Paul Davis), and a classical movie theme that went to #1 (Vangelis).
All that alongside the before-noted slowest songs of the era.  A total mess of a chart, but what how much better than the homogenized music of later in the decade.
First hits:  Asia, Atlantic Starr,
Last: Franke and the Knockouts, Simon and Garfunkel, Donnie Iris
