Just one week off the chart played last year, this one has Prince hanging on for another week at #1, while "Purple Rain" debuts all the way up at #28, though it only ultimately made it to #2.
As I mentioned last time, the party of 1983 with the quirky one-hit wonders is over, and veterans are doing very well. A 1982 hit is make a resurgence to the top 10: "I'm So Excited" (peaked at #30 back then).
Last hit: The Jacksons, as a group
First hit (of many): Wham! Billy Ocean
Biggest hit: John Waite, The Cars, Tina Turner, Chaka Khan
